Overview

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0-10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0-12.1.1.2 are vulnerable to a remote authenticated information disclosure. An attacker can modify object attributes to change access settings, exposing sensitive data. This flaw can be exploited by users with legitimate credentials.

Description

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information due to improperly controlled modification of object attributes. A user-supplied value could change an access-related setting that should be controlled by the system, which could expose sensitive information.

Impact

Confidentiality: sensitive data may be exposed. Integrity: access controls can be bypassed. Availability: not directly impacted. Defenders: administrators and security teams must ensure proper patching and review of attribute permissions.

Remediation

Apply IBM security patches that address CVE-2026-17394. Verify that object attribute modification is restricted to system-level roles. Enable least privilege and audit logs for attribute changes.

Risk context

Critical severity (CVSS 9.6) indicates high risk. Immediate patching is recommended to prevent potential data exposure.
