Overview

A JIT miscompilation flaw in Mozilla Firefox’s WebAssembly engine can cause incorrect code execution when processing WebAssembly modules. The issue is limited to Firefox versions prior to 158 and the ESR 153.5 release. It was patched in those versions.

Description

JIT miscompilation in the JavaScript: WebAssembly component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox 158 and Firefox ESR 153.5.

Remediation

Update all Firefox installations to version 158 or later, or to the ESR 153.5 release or newer. If immediate update is not possible, disable WebAssembly via browser configuration or use a content security policy that blocks WebAssembly execution.
